Investors are cheering the lighter-than-expected inflation report with markets jumping in response. The broader US indices are up about 1.5% as of this writing. Headline CPI came in at +8.5% y/y, compared to consensus estimates of +9.1%. Core (excluding food & energy) was +5.9%, also slightly below estimates.
